The romantic warriors from Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2019 fashion show are captured in a new campaign video shot by Mert and Marcus.

Recently the twins spoken with The Impression Kenneth Richard about their collaboration with Giovanni Bianco for the first time.

“Giovanni Bianco is The Creative! He is great expert in the industry and a good friend too. We always love to work with him as he is so talented, smart and fun. We met him at work and we have a very longstanding relationship.”

Meeting in their city hangout, a disused railway station on the edge of the city, the urban pack appear in color-saturated scenes that mix the high energy of the collection and industrial elements of the setting of Milan’s Orobia Factory.

“We start from the inspirations of the collection. Then, we create a story around it. It is a brainstorming session between us, photographers and art direction.”

Military codes and turn of the century style corsetry details on the accessories and ready-to-wear—including long, trailing laces— are captured in movement, flying when jumping a stair rail and riding bikes through the vast space.

“We try to be Dsquared2 – digitally speaking –  in the most creative and “touchable” way. This means being stuck on our roots but offering a fresh and innovative perspective of them. Thinking outside the box is always the best solution.”

This is what Dean and Dan Caten must have thought when they conceived the format of their fall runway show, with guests standing by the catwalk as at a music concert and bars serving drinks.

We felt that the Dsquared2 Autumn Winter 2019 collection is dedicated to rock stars that are climbing mountains and the stage style looks are built for adventurous expeditions.

All of this was combined with a winter mountaineering feel. While pretty shearling coats warmed up the looks — in the women’s line they actually covered inches and inches of skin left unprotected by sexy dresses — technical men’s ski pants with suspenders revealed the Canadian Catens’ passion for winter sports.
