Superstar Charlie Matthews has always been highly visible. From magazines to runways to billboards and store windows, and now as a face for GUESS; a journey for Charlie that began only 7 or 8 years ago when he was doing his first big shoot in New York for Target’s holiday campaign.

Charlie is very driven and career-focused. He has always been strategic and passionate about his craft. Charlie has worn fashion brands such as A&F, Hilfiger, Nautica and Calvin Klein. The 6’1” first generation Serbian American is Los Angeles-based and signed with DT Model Management. He has dark brown hair and those famous mesmerizing blue/green eyes.

Recently, Charlie hit the shores of Malibu Beach in California for our “WishYouWereHere”SpringBreakshoot.Hewasbrilliantlycaptured by photographer Ted Sun, who commented, “I already knew what a lovely person Charlie was to work with, and it was great to catch up on our drive out to Malibu.”

Ted continued, “With a prominent model like Charlie, I wanted the other elements of the shoot to be simplistic and classic. I’ve been wanting to shoot a story at El Matador Beach over the years, and Charlie was the perfect model to bring out to this special location. Fashion-wise, the focus was on keeping things minimalistic and classic. I wanted shots with Charlie that would feel timeless.”

Ted noted that Charlie is always a pro and that they were totally on the same page. “He’s such an easy going personality, which made everything about this shoot feel so seamless. So, I could just enjoy hanging out and shooting with him out in this beautiful environ- ment.”
