Top model Garrett Neff sets sail in his boat straight to Portland Maine in the new GQ Russia September 2020 editorial shot by Dean Isidro.
Photographing in a boat from Portland Schooner Co. the model is styled by Seppe Tirabassi–who’s a GQ contributor and Maine Native, using brands like Dsquared2, Michael Kors, Cartier watch and Katama (owned by Neff.)
According to Dean Isidro, he got married in August, after being tested all crew traveled to meet in Portland Maine where Seppe–the stylist–grew up. Isidro thanked to Neff for driving all the way from New Hampshire to shoot this fashion editorial.
“While I was busy marrying the man of my dreams, a recent editorial published that happens to be one of my favorites for many reasons, it was my first editorial shoot during COVID-19, with a small group of guys I’m so honored to call friends. After being tested we all traveled to meet in Portland Maine where the stylist grew up and whose family was our ground support. It was a very special trip. Thank you Garrett for driving all the way from your family in New Hampshire for soggy day on a sailboat.”

Another anecdote from behind-the-scenes is the one that groomer Riad Azar tells on Instagram, when he found out about Garrett’s mullet.
“Here is a little “behind the look” story for you! The minute I heard we shooting Garrett on sailing boat for GQ Russia I envisioned him with longer hair in the back mullet and scruffier! The opposite of what he usually looks like “the clean cut rich super handsome guy” so I texted him and asked him not to shave or cut his hair till I see him, meanwhile I prepped hair extensions to add it in the back and create that maine rugged nature man look et voila !!! He rocked it 🙌🏽 of course with the help of amazing team (family ) thanks for bringing the story to life Model.”

The model comments via Instagram “It was warm and wet and we were on a boat in Maine. It was heavenly. Outtakes from the shoot are sometimes better than the published ones. Btw… Seppe (the stylist), everyone keeps telling me they want these sweaters over DM. Styling could not have been better.”
