Walter Van Beirendonck Men’s Spring 2023 Paris

We came to Paris to watch the new Walter Van Beirendonck Men’s Spring 2023 Collection.

The venue was at the Théâtre de la Madeleine “WIRWAR Show”

Walter Van Beirendonck is without a doubt one of the most influential people in the fashion industry. He is a member of the very influential group Antwerp Six +1 which consists of Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Bikkembergs, Marina Yee and Martin Margiela.

His feature in Paris Fashion Week tends to shock, stir and start a dialogue about the boundary between fashion and theater. The designer’s two-piece display during Paris Fashion Week combined Shakespeare’s ruffles with Hannibal Lecter masks – a kinky theatrical renaissance for SS23.

The collection offered collars with ruffles from the 16th century that collided with tank tops with a slogan and skirts with loops in curtain rods.

Cut-out leather jackets showed skin while baggy pants consumed the legs in their volume. Later in the collection, the designer’s usual playful sense of color infiltrated geometric patterns that focused on sportswear.

However, the theater as a whole was continually enhanced thanks to a Power Rangers green face mask top number, the sparkling green glittery blazer and shirts that wore capes.
