In an exclusive interview conducted through lululemon.com, he elaborates on his motivations and discusses the sources of his invigorating energy that he channels towards uplifting others.

”I focus my intentions and goals on self-transcendence. It’s never about outside competition or proving myself to anyone. It’s about building on myself daily, discovering new self-imposed limitations, and then defying them. And I’m not special—I’ve just found a way to be my own source of validation. When you have a team of people all working towards self-growth, you end up inspiring each other. The energy doesn’t only come from validating yourself, but also from finding inspiration in the people around you and believing that your actions could be someone else’s source of inspiration.”

In the continuation of the interview conducted by Kim Budziak, the esteemed trainer expounds upon the sources of his inspiration during his classes, as well as delving into the immense mental fortitude required for his role.

He assures ”I definitely struggled with the mental side as a tennis player. I always say to win you have to focus on What’s Important Now—it’s W.I.N. It’s rebranding what it means to fail, because there is no failing, only learning. If you’re trying, you’re going to grow. If you’re not willing to go through the process, you can’t grow. ”

Alright, let me give you some cool tips to rock your week and feel amazing! Check out these 7 tactical tips to help you feel your absolute best:

01. Before a workout, focus on pliability: foam rolling, self-myofascial release, and massage.
02. Do dynamic stretching right before the workout (versus static stretching). Static stretching will debilitate you, whereas a dynamic warm-up will prepare you to be optimal in the workout or sport.
03. Eat. Hydrate. If you’re doing cardio, eat good carbs and fats. If you’re doing lifting or boot camp strength sessions, you should eat protein.
04. Drink water all day. I find it’s already too late if I’m thirsty or hungry.
05. Just start. Don’t say, “I’m going to try,” or, “I’m trying.” Just go and find something you love, and commit.
06. Celebrate after a big workout. Celebrating wins is one of the best ways to keep energy up.
07. Community matters, too. You might be the one to change everything for everyone.

Author Kim Budziak inquires, “How does one embody the concept of wellness in their day-to-day life?”
Where he replies, ”My classes are called “practice sessions.” It’s what I coach. I merge mental conditioning and physical skill-building. As you build the skill, a lot of things go on autopilot. You’re building new muscular pathways and body awareness. I wanted to input the mental awareness into building that skill. So now you’re training your self-talk to eventually be on autopilot. You’re able to choose to feed positive thoughts—you’re conditioned to do it. Being well is about training a mindset that allows you to generate positive self-talk so you can continue to grow.”
