After five years of rotating guest designers, Jean Paul Gaultier has a new permanent creative director: Dutch designer Duran Lantink, known for his experimental approach to fashion, inclusivity, and sustainability. His SS26 debut marks a bold new chapter for the Maison, bringing fresh energy while honoring Gaultier’s iconic codes.
Lantink’s first collection is a provocative celebration of genderless fashion, proving that fluidity doesn’t mean diluting identity. From garments that reveal body hair to head-to-toe tattoo-inspired prints, navy stripes, exaggerated conical bras, and daring cutouts, the designs are both sexy and irreverent. Pleating and flowing silhouettes evoke futuristic beachwear and even underwater diving aesthetics, creating a visually striking and conceptual runway.

In Duran’s vision, “androgynous” is not about erasing gender—it’s about amplifying expression. The collection’s fearless approach to body, texture, and motif reinforces Jean Paul Gaultier’s legacy while establishing Lantink as a designer to watch in contemporary fashion.
Whether through corsets, bodysuits, or catsuits, Lantink’s debut demonstrates that bold, provocative, and inclusive design can coexist seamlessly, offering fashion that challenges conventions while staying undeniably chic.

I believe this situation can be escalated, but some of the looks are creepy, while others appear to be AI-generated.
They look unique but it’s hard to wear in daily life, righ? I tried it when I with cowboy safari but it didn’t work quite well.
