River Island is proud to announce Matthew Miller as its next Design Forum menswear designer! Taking his inspiration from traditional military apparel combined with contemporary streetwear, the exclusive 10-piece-collection will be available June 2017!
The 10-piece collection includes outerwear, tops, and trousers inspired by Miller’s personal collection of military clothing, with a contemporary streetwear twist.
Items in the capsule collection include stonewashed parkas, camo combat trousers, oversized sweats made from scuba and lightweight jersey fabric, and graphic t-shirts, all in a palette of khaki and greys with rust and pink.
Technical finishings and details emphasise the military reference with patch pockets, chrome zippers, poppers, and internal shoulder straps.
Miller said about the collection: “The Design Forum collection is based on my private military archive so the opportunity to re-issue these pieces has been a creative journey that is particularly personal to me. We worked closely with the River Island design team; taking inspiration from museums and rummaging through vintage showrooms we strived to created a collection that not only draws upon my core design aesthetic, but appeals to the River Island man”.
The range will be showcased in a short film to be shown at London Fashion Week Men’s in June 2017.
Pieces will be priced from £25 to £110 and will be available from River Island stores nationwide and riverisland.com from June.
