Also, in making shirts, craftsmen dedicate their passion and unique ideas by combining modern machinery and traditional hand tools to produce streetwear. An example of this is the production of popular Viking t shirts that are designed with Viking emblems and statements.

Crew Neck

This is arguably the most popular style of t-shirt necklines. A crew neck tee has a round and circular neck that fits snugly. Because it’s more form-fitting than other styles, it works best on men who have slim, tall faces and sloped shoulders.

Is that you? If so, check out the guide at https://jasperhollandco.com/blogs/news/meet-jasper-holland-co-premium-mens-t-shirt-brand-with-tight-necks. This premium t-shirt brand collection features a range of shirts with similar, tight necks!

A Men's Guide to the Different Types of Necklines on Shirts

The perfect go-to accessory for any function, a crew neck tee is an unbeatable classic. Shirts with crew necks typically have simple designs, making them appropriate for several occasions. You can wear a crew neck shirt with a pair of jeans to achieve a casual look or pair it with a blazer and dress pants whether you’re on a night out or going to work.

Henly-Style Neck

There’s a reason why this style is also called the “Y-Neck Style.”

A mashup between the crew neck and V-neckline, a Henly-style t-shirt normally features a series of buttons that spread from the top of the neckline to right above the sternum. If you’re looking to show off your muscular chest, don one of these and unbutton the top few buttons!

The presence of the buttons alone elevates this style. For instance, you can wear a Henly-style tee on the weekend without any overshirt and still be one of the best-dressed men in the room.

Henlys with lighter fabrics may be worn during Summer and Spring, while thicker ones are for colder months.

V-Neck

This type of t-shirt neckline looks exactly like it sounds. A V-neck forms the letter “V” near the top of your chest.

While crew necklines were best-suited for men with narrow faces and sloped shoulders, a V-neck is designed to fit a little more loosely and showcase a physique. As such, men with round faces and broader shoulders should look to this style first.

V-necks are more suitable when you’re going to the office. However, remember that you shouldn’t wear this underneath another V-neck shirt.

Deep V-Neck

Want to take that V-neck down a little further? Maybe you’re super proud of your pectoral muscles and want to showcase them as much as possible. In this case, it’s wise to grab a deep V-neck out of the closet. Wearing a deep V-neck shirt can further emphasize your body’s best features, specifically your upper body.

Polo T-Shirt

Ralph Lauren’s classic polo shirts might not be the first item you think of when you picture a t-shirt. Yet, most of them are soft and relaxed enough to be categorized as such.

Big and Tall purple polo shirt

If you’ve ever owned a Polo, you know that it’s an instant trendsetter that goes with everything. This style is one of the few that features a collared neck. Because these tend to be more form-fitting than other styles, men with lean physiques should take note.

Consider wearing a polo shirt if you’re going for a more formal look. Short sleeves are the most common polo shirts worn but you may use a long-sleeved one if you want extra warmth. These are also good for certain sports like tennis and golf, but be sure to choose one that is made from a performance fabric to keep you cool and comfortable.

Scoop Neck

Think about a crew neck that’s been extended and pulled down just a little. You just imagined a scoop neck!

In this iteration of the crew tee, the neckline dips down just a few inches south of your collarbone. It’s the ultimate t-shirt for hanging out with the family, though in a public or professional setting, a scoop neck can look out of place.

Deep Scoop Neck

Similar to a deep V-neck, a deep scoop neck is the same concept as a normal version. Yet, it’s simply brought down a little further. If you’re really feeling your upper body one day, why not throw one on? While both men and women can rock a deep scoop neck, men tend to prefer them more frequently.

In addition, they also prefer a deeper scoop!

“Shade V-Neck” This extremely soft Japanese viscose vneck tshirt is hand dyed and features a distressed neckline and detailed stitching. Every tshirt is 100% hand made.

Bateau Neck

While a bateau neck shirt is most commonly seen on women, you can still find some menswear items that include this feature. Often called a boatneck tee, this is one that spans from shoulder to shoulder in one straight line, running parallel to your collarbone. There is no dip, V-neck or scoop in sight.

If you have narrow shoulders, check this style out. The wide design is meant to broaden your shoulders, which can be a welcome addition, especially if you have wide hips and narrow shoulders.

Mock Neck

Sometimes, you want a little extra warmth and protection at your neckline. But, you don’t want to don a scarf. In this case, a mock neckline does the trick!

Mock Neck for Men

Think of this style as a turtleneck that doesn’t fold down. In most cases, men will wear these as undershirts. For instance, they look great paired with sweaters for formal occasions. They’re also a great way to help your t-shirt collection transition from summer to fall! Add a mock neck tee under any of your favorite short-sleeved shirts to extend their wearability all year round.

Turtleneck

Similar to a mock neck, a turtleneck also provides a little extra coverage along the top of your neck. The only difference, in this style, the top of the turtleneck rolls down! This way, it aligns with the rest of your shirt and rests near your collarbone.
