Kenzo Menswear Spring 2024 Paris

Presenting tonight on the Passerelle Debilly – the footbridge that connects Palais de Tokyo with the Eiffel Tower over the River Seine, echoing the East meets West connectivity.

Engaging in a dynamic conversation, the collection forges a captivating partnership with the renowned Japanese graphic artist @Verdy, a cherished friend of @Nigo. Verdy lends his signature swashed font to reinterpret the iconic KENZO logo, leaving an indelible mark on garments and accessories. The result is a striking fusion where Verdy’s artistic vision intertwines with the essence of #KENZONIGO, amplifying the brand’s allure with a resounding visual impact.

CITY POP PARIS

For Nigo, the starting point for his approach to the Spring-Summer 2024 collection, evokes the recent global reappraisal of the ‘City Pop’ sound of the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

The soundtrack to a time of growing exuberance in post-war Japan, the City Pop era also coincides with some of the most memorable moments in the career of Kenzo Takada. That this sound has been adopted and celebrated by an audience entirely separated by time and culture from the point of its creation, presents to Nigo a powerful analogy of his instinct that the legacy of Kenzo Takada has a vital relevance to the present.
