In a remarkable journey from a humble draper's store in Iowa to the illustrious capital of the Renaissance, Todd Snyder seamlessly closed the gap with a stunning showcase at Pitti in Florence this Tuesday. Renowned as the king of collaborations in American menswear, Snyder exhibited a masterful fusion of diverse elements, incorporating Tuscan fabrics, Canadian arctic trapper inspirations, and even a touch of Vincent van Gogh. Notably, his partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art saw the integration of iconic van Gogh prints, spanning from Provencal flowers to an enlarged image of desert boots, embellishing luxurious silk shirts. Backstage at the Stazione Leopolda, a disused railway station transformed into Pitti's grand stage, Snyder showcased a clear-headed and focused collection that left a lasting impression.
