Yohji Yamamoto Men’s Fall/Winter 2025 Paris

Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 menswear collection, showcased at Paris Fashion Week on January 23, 2025, exemplifies his enduring commitment to avant-garde design and meticulous craftsmanship. The collection predominantly features a dark color palette, with models donning thick, quilted jackets and elongated overcoats. These outerwear pieces are paired with utility-style trousers, distinguished by functional leg pockets, underscoring a blend of form and function.

A notable aspect of the collection is the incorporation of thought-provoking messages emblazoned on select coats. Phrases such as “Despair is the conclusion of the fool” and “Sadness and suffering are the flowers of life” add a contemplative layer to the garments, inviting reflection on deeper philosophical themes.

The runway presentation was deliberately paced, allowing models to pause and rotate, effectively highlighting the reversible nature of certain pieces. This unhurried approach not only showcased the versatility of the designs but also emphasized the intricate details and construction of each garment. Some models added personal touches to the presentation, such as blowing kisses to the audience or interacting with fellow models, infusing the show with a sense of spontaneity and human connection.

In summary, Yamamoto’s latest collection is a testament to his signature aesthetic, seamlessly blending utilitarian elements with profound philosophical expressions. The thoughtful design and presentation underscore his position as a visionary in the fashion industry.
