Eli Russell Linnetz opens a new chapter for ERL with the Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection, marking the brand’s first independent presentation following its departure from the Dover Street Market showroom. Presented during Paris Fashion Week, the collection demonstrates a renewed confidence, embracing everything that has made ERL one of contemporary fashion’s most distinctive voices.
Titled “The Island,” the collection draws inspiration from an unexpected personal experience on Martha’s Vineyard, where East Coast preppy traditions collide with ERL’s unmistakable California attitude. The result is a wardrobe that feels nostalgic yet rebellious, polished yet intentionally undone.
Madras plaids, faded rugby shirts, washed denim and oversized sportswear define the season’s relaxed silhouettes. Rather than softening the brand’s signature identity, Linnetz fully embraces saturated color, introducing vivid chartreuse alongside weathered textures and sun-faded finishes that evoke garments naturally aged under the California sun.
The move of production from Europe to Los Angeles has also elevated the craftsmanship throughout the menswear offering. Every piece reflects a stronger attention to detail, from hand-treated knitwear and gradient-dyed fabrics to carefully bleached denim and artisanal construction techniques. The collection balances vintage references with modern fabrication, reinforcing ERL’s reputation for creating clothing that feels both collectible and effortlessly wearable.
Several garments showcase Linnetz’s fascination with upcycling and individuality. Vintage scarves, deadstock fabrics and antique textiles are incorporated into unique pieces, ensuring that no two garments feel exactly alike. This handcrafted approach gives the collection an authentic character that contrasts with today’s increasingly standardized luxury market.

The presentation itself echoed the relaxed spirit of the clothes. Models lounged on elevated platforms as though spending an endless summer afternoon, reinforcing the laid-back energy that has become synonymous with the ERL universe. Rather than relying on theatrical runway moments, the collection allowed the craftsmanship, color and styling to tell the story.
Spring/Summer 2027 signals an important evolution for ERL menswear. Now operating independently, Eli Russell Linnetz leans fully into the bold aesthetic that has defined the brand from the beginning. By combining East Coast prep with West Coast ease, elevated craftsmanship and fearless color, ERL delivers one of its most authentic collections to date—one that celebrates individuality without compromise.
