John Varvatos Spring/Summer 2017 New York

Leave it to John Varvatos to continue to bend the rules. He was the one to close out New York Fashion Week this year. The location meant that the number of attendees was limited, but it also allowed Varvatos to more effectively showcase the “fabrics, details, textures and finishes” of the line, he said. “I want to do something different and this venue could be in France.”

Orley Spring/Summer 2017 New York

On the heels of their CFDA Swarovski Menswear award win, the designers behind the Orley label presented a collection rooted in nostalgia, a trademark of the brand. While many of the silhouettes were familiar — a Fifties-inspired knit polo and a zip-up cropped patchwork jacket — when paired with Seventies-era shorts and plaid jackets, the look felt modern and relevant.
